COSMOS 2124, also known as Kosmos-2124, is a reconnaissance satellite launched on February 7, 1991 from the PLMSC launch site using a Soyuz-U launch vehicle at LC16/2. It operates under the Yantar'-4K2 bus configuration and consists of a main reentry module with two small reentry capsules for photo (film return type) reconnaissance missions. The satellite has dimensions of 6.3 meters in length, 2.7 meters in diameter, and spans 6.3 meters. It was manufactured by TSSKB and its launch mass is the same as its dry mass at 2886 kg. Power is provided by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The satellite's shape is described as cylindrical with two panels (Cyl + 2 Pan) and has a radar cross-section of 13.89 m². Its payload is designated as Kobal't No. 530, designed for reconnaissance purposes.
