COSMOS 2102 (also known as Kosmos-2102) is a reconnaissance satellite launched on October 16, 1990, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome Launch Pad LC16/2 using a Soyuz-U launch vehicle. The spacecraft, manufactured by TSSKB and based on the Yantar'-4K2 bus, consists of a main reentry module and two small reentry capsules. It measures 6.3 meters in length with a diameter of 2.7 meters, has a span of 6.3 meters, and has a dry mass of 2886 kg, which is also its launch mass. The satellite uses reconnaissance equipment for photo (film return type) missions, powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Its shape is cylindrical with two panels, and it was owned by UNKS at the time of launch.
