COSMOS 2002 (also known as Kosmos-2002) is a radar calibration satellite launched on February 14, 1989, from the PLMSC launch site using the Kosmos 11K65M launch vehicle. The spacecraft, with the OBJECT_ID 1989-012A and NORAD_CAT_ID 19800, has a spherical shape with dimensions of 2 meters in length, diameter, and span. It carries a Duga-K payload and has a dry mass of 760 kilograms, which is also its launch mass. The satellite was manufactured by YUZH for PVO (Soviet Air Defense Forces) and equipped with solar cells and batteries for power. Its primary mission is radar calibration. The satellite's radar cross-section (RCS) is measured at 4.26 square meters.
