It was launched on October 11, 1988, from PLMSC LC32/1 using a Tsiklon-3 launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 3.2 meters in length, 1.3 meters in diameter, and a span of 13.1 meters, with a dry mass of 1750 kilograms. Equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power supply, COSMOS 1975 was designed to operate as part of the Tselina-D series for a lifetime of approximately six months.
