ISKRA 1 was an amateur radio communication satellite launched on July 10, 1981, from TYMSC Launch Pad LC31 using a Vostok 8A92M launch vehicle. The spacecraft, manufactured by MAIO, measured 0.5 meters in length and had a diameter of 0.3 meters with a span of 0.5 meters. It weighed 35 kilograms at launch and operated with solar cells and batteries for power. ISKRA 1 was part of the Iskra bus configuration and was owned by MAIO/MOM, equipped with an RK-01 (I-5) payload.
