COSMOS 1923 (also known as Kosmos-1923) is a reconnaissance satellite launched by the Soviet Union on March 10, 1988, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome using a Soyuz-U launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 6 meters in length and has a diameter of 2.2 meters with a span of 6 meters. It has a dry mass and launch mass both at 2655 kg and is powered by batteries. Its mission involves reconnaissance through photo (film return type) equipment, using the Oblik No. 366 payload. The satellite features an Oblik configuration based on the Zenit bus and uses motors 11D82M and S5.120 for maneuvers. It has a shape described as Sphere + DCone with a RCS of 9.14 square meters. Manufactured by TSSKB, COSMOS 1923 was launched from LC43/4 at PLMSC launch site.
