Summary
COSMOS 1892, also known as Kosmos-1892, is a SIGINT (signals intelligence) satellite launched on October 20, 1987, from the PLMSC launch site using the LC32/1 pad and Tsiklon-3 launch vehicle. Built by YUZH for the GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate), this Tselina-D type satellite has a cylindrical shape with antennas, measuring 3.2 meters in length and 1.3 meters in diameter with a span of 13.1 meters. It was equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries to power its operations, and it had a dry mass of 1750 kilograms. The satellite carried the Ikar No. 59L payload and operated for approximately six months as part of its SIGINT mission.
