Summary
COSMOS 1828, also known as Kosmos-1828, is a military communication satellite based on the Strela-3 bus, launched by the Soviet Union (SU) on March 13, 1987, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome using a Tsiklon-3 launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 1.6 meters in length with a diameter of 0.8 meters and spans 7 meters when antennas are deployed. It has a dry mass of 225 kilograms, which is also its launch mass. Manufactured by NPOPM, the satellite was equipped with solar cells and batteries for power generation. Its shape consists of a cylinder with antennas attached. The satellite's reflective surface area (RCS) is 1.1357 square meters.
