Summary
COSMOS 1646, also known as Kosmos-1646, is an ocean surveillance satellite designed for passive monitoring and launched by the Soviet Union on April 18, 1985, from the TYMSC launch site using a Tsiklon-2 launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 10 meters in length with a diameter of 1.3 meters and spans 17 meters when its components are deployed. It has a dry mass of 3,000 kg and launched with a total mass of 3,300 kg.
