COSMOS 1599 (Kosmos-1599) is a reconnaissance satellite launched by the Soviet Union on September 25, 1984, from Plesetsk using a Soyuz-U launch vehicle. It was manufactured by TSSKB and operated by GUKOS for photographic reconnaissance missions with film return capability. The satellite has a configuration of Yantar Bus, main reentry module, and two small reentry capsules. Its dimensions are 6.3 meters in length, 2.7 meters in diameter, and it spans 6.3 meters, with a dry mass of 2886 kg. It is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries.
