The spacecraft has dimensions of 0.8 meters in length, diameter, and span, with a dry mass and launch mass both at 60 kilograms. It was equipped with solar cells and batteries for power supply and is part of the Strela-1 11F625 bus series manufactured by NPOPM (NPO Precision Mechanics). Its mission focused on military communication purposes, carrying the Strela-1M Blok 36 No. 5 payload.
