COSMOS 1495 (also known as Kosmos-1495) is a reconnaissance satellite launched on September 3, 1983, from the PLMSC launch site using LC43/4 pad and Soyuz-U launch vehicle. It has a Zenit bus configuration based on the Fram platform manufactured by TSSKB. The satellite measures 6 meters in length with a diameter of 2.2 meters and spans 6 meters; its dry mass is 2,455 kilograms. Equipped with batteries for power and Priroda-3 equipment, COSMOS 1495 was designed for reconnaissance purposes using film return technology. Its propulsion system includes an 11D82M engine and an S5.120 maneuver module. The satellite's shape is described as a sphere plus a DCone.
