COSMOS 1440 (also known as Kosmos-1440) is an Earth observation satellite, designated Resurs-F1 and identified by the NORAD catalog ID 13793. Launched on February 10, 1983, from the PLMSC launch site using Soyuz-U as the launch vehicle from pad LC41/1, it was manufactured by TSSKB for the PRIR owner. The satellite is equipped with a Priroda-4 imaging system that includes two KFA-1000 and three KATE-200 devices. With dimensions of 6.5 meters in length and diameter of 2.4 meters, it has a dry mass of 2555 kg and was powered by batteries. The spacecraft's shape is described as a sphere with a DCone, and its mission purpose is Earth observation utilizing film return technology.
