The COSMOS 1402 FUEL CORE, also known as Kosmos-1402 reactor core, is a US-A reactor core satellite launched on August 30, 1982, from the TYSMC launch site using the Tsiklon-2 launch vehicle from LC90. With dimensions of 0.5 meters in length and diameter, and spanning 0.5 meters, it has a dry mass and launch mass both at 53 kilograms. The satellite is cylindrical in shape with a radar cross-section (RCS) of 0.17 square meters. Owned by VMF and operated under the Soviet Union, its stable date was December 28, 1982.
