COSMOS 1426, also known as Kosmos-1426, is a reconnaissance satellite launched by the Soviet Union on December 28, 1982. It was manufactured by TSSKB and equipped with a Yantar'-4KS1 bus configuration for photo reconnaissance and data transmission purposes. The satellite measures 7.5 meters in length, 2.7 meters in diameter, and has a span of 8.5 meters. Launched from the Tyuratam Space Center (TYMSC) at launch pad LC31 using a Soyuz-U launch vehicle, it has a dry mass of 3,390 kg and was powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The satellite's shape is described as cylindrical with two panoramic sections, and its reflective surface area (RCS) is measured to be 33.49 square meters.
