COSMOS 1424 (also known as Kosmos-1424) is a reconnaissance satellite launched by the Soviet Union on December 16, 1982, from Launch Pad LC31 at TYMSC using a Soyuz-U launch vehicle. It belongs to the Yantar'-4K1 series with a configuration including a Yantar Bus, main reentry module, and two small reentry capsules. The satellite has dimensions of 6.3 meters in length, 2.7 meters in diameter, and a span of 6.3 meters. Its dry mass is 2886 kg, which is also its launch mass.
