COSMOS 1387, also known as Kosmos-1387, is a reconnaissance satellite equipped for photo (film return type) missions launched on July 13, 1982, from PLMSC LC43/3 using the Soyuz-U launch vehicle. The spacecraft, manufactured by TSSKB and operating under PRIR ownership, features the Zenit bus configuration based on the Fram platform with a Priroda-3 payload, designated as Fram No. 21L. It has dimensions of 6 meters in length and diameter of 2.2 meters, with a span also measuring 6 meters. The satellite's dry mass is 2455 kilograms, equal to its launch mass. Its power source consists of batteries, and it uses the 11D82M and S5.120 maneuver module motors for propulsion. The satellite has a spherical shape with a conical section (DCone) and was launched on the same date it achieved stability.
