COSMOS 1359 (also known as Kosmos-1359) is a military communication satellite launched on May 6, 1982, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome LC132/2 using the Kosmos 11K65M launch vehicle. Built by NPOPM for GUKOS (the Main Administration of Armaments of the Ministry of Defense of the Soviet Union), this satellite is part of the Strela-1 series with a Blok 30 No. 3 payload designed for military communication purposes. The spacecraft measures 0.8 meters in length, diameter, and span, has a dry mass of 60 kilograms, and was equipped with solar cells and batteries for power. It operated for approximately six months and had a polyhedral shape with a radar cross section (RCS) of 0.6817 square meters.
