COSMOS 1340 (also known as Kosmos-1340) is a SIGINT satellite launched on February 19, 1982, from the PLMSC launch site using LC16/2 with the Vostok 8A92M launch vehicle. Manufactured by YUZH and operated by GRU, this Tselina-D satellite has dimensions of 3.2 meters in length and a diameter of 1.3 meters, with a span of 13.1 meters. The spacecraft's dry mass is 1750 kilograms, which was also its launch mass. It features two deployable solar arrays for power generation along with batteries. Equipped with the Ikar No. 27L payload, COSMOS 1340 has a cylindrical shape augmented by antennas and an RCS value of 6.3351. The mission's primary purpose is SIGINT (Signal Intelligence), and it was designed to operate for approximately six months.
