It was launched on November 12, 1981, from LC39A at AFETR using the Space Shuttle launch vehicle. Its dry mass is 84,044 kilograms, with a launch mass of 91,111 kilograms. Power for the spacecraft comes from fuel cells and batteries. The equipment includes two OME (AJ10-190) motors.
