COSMOS 1293 (also known as Kosmos-1293) is a military communication satellite launched by the Soviet Union on August 6, 1981, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome using the Kosmos 11K65M launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 0.8 meters in length and diameter with a span of 0.8 meters and a dry mass of 60 kilograms. It was manufactured by NPOPM for GUKOS (Soviet Ministry of Defense). COSMOS 1293 carried the Strela-1M Blok 28 No. 7 payload and its power system consisted of solar cells and batteries.
