Launched on June 14, 1980, from the TYMSC launch site using the Proton-K/DM launch vehicle, it has dimensions of 5.5 meters in length, 3.3 meters in diameter, and a span of 9.5 meters. The satellite carries 6 C-band transponders and one Ku-band transponder for communication purposes. It was equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power supply.
